Coptic Bookbinding - May 19th

The Paper Canopy is excited to host James Davis for our first bookbinding class!

We would like to invite you to learn this ancient form of bookbinding, whose origin date back to 2nd century Egypt. Coptic binding are known as the first true codexes and their form creates a beautiful and effective book structure.

In this modern take on a historical practice, we will utilize waxed thread, decorative papers and some ingenuity to sew folded sections into a blank book ready for journaling, art projects, or gifts. 

*A minimum of 3 participants are needed for the classes to run. If the minimum isn't reached 2 days before the class is scheduled, it will be canceled and fully refunded.
